Decisions, Decisions, Decisions! (P7H)

P7 Homework 23 Comments »

There is a lot of discussion about whether girls should be allowed to wear make up to school and if boys should be allowed to over indulge in hair products. For this week’s Blog Homework, I would like you to look at both sides of the argument.

I would like you to give at least ONE reason as to why girls should be allowed to wear make up and ONE reason as to why boys should be allowed to have their hair in any style they wish in school. I would like you to give at least ONE reason as to why girls should not be allowed to wear make up and ONE reason as to why boys should not be allowed to have their hair in any style they wish.

Think carefully about your argument as you will be asked to support your viewpoint in class.

Your comments should be submitted by 3 pm on Friday 9th March.

P7 Homework 46 Comments »

You are going to carry out an experiment to find out on which surface a sleigh will travel furthest. You are going to start the sleigh moving with a push. Remember to record the distances travelled (or flags reached) on paper.

When you have completed the activity you can now submit a comment to the Blog explaining why the sleigh travelled further on a particular surface and why it did not travel as far on another surface.

What Can I Get Miss Hamilton for Christmas?

P7 Homework 29 Comments »

Your task for this week is to help Mr Joyce in what he could buy Miss Hamilton for Christmas. There is a problem with this though. Each present that I give must start with a different letter of the alphabet and I must say why I am buying it for her.

I have already thought of something for the letter A and it is the following:

  • I am going to give Miss Hamilton an anorak for Christmas so that she can use it to wrap up her little sporty car so that it doesn’t get wet.

It is now up to you to think of a suitable present that starts with b, c, d, e, etc and you must also include the reason for giving her that particular present.

The gifts do not have to be real you can be as imaginative as you like.

N.B.If a letter has already been used then you will have to select another one.

All gifts must be submitted by Wednesday 20th December.

Homework – Andy Warhol

P7 Homework 51 Comments »

Andy Warhol was one of the most important artists of pop art, which became extremely popular in the second half of the twentieth century. Though he is best remembered for his paintings of Campbell’s soup cans, he also created hundreds of other works including commerical advertisements and films.

Recently in art you have been creating your very own Andy Warhol piece of art. Instead of using the andy-warhol2.jpgCampbell’s soup can you have been investigating the ‘famous’ Irn Bru can. I would like you to take some time to look at this Andy Warhol site and list three things you like about his art work and one thing that you do not.You should submit you comment by Friday 15th December.
