P7 Homework March 2nd, 2007There is a lot of discussion about whether girls should be allowed to wear make up to school and if boys should be allowed to over indulge in hair products. For this week’s Blog Homework, I would like you to look at both sides of the argument.
I would like you to give at least ONE reason as to why girls should be allowed to wear make up and ONE reason as to why boys should be allowed to have their hair in any style they wish in school. I would like you to give at least ONE reason as to why girls should not be allowed to wear make up and ONE reason as to why boys should not be allowed to have their hair in any style they wish.
Think carefully about your argument as you will be asked to support your viewpoint in class.
Your comments should be submitted by 3 pm on Friday 9th March.

FOR :
Girls should be able to wear make-up to school like foundation if they have something like a spot which they don’t want anyone else to see. They should also be able to wear lip gloss if they have cracked lips and they don’t have any lip balm.
Boys should be allowed to wear their hair any way they like to school because it’s their own choice on how they appear. As long as the boys parents agree with the hairstyle or the hair products they have used then they should be allowed to wear their hair in the way they like.
AGAINST :
Girls shouldn’t be allowed to wear make-up to school because they might put on to much and look ridiculous. Also they might not concentrate as they are worried that their make-up has smudged or something and it is also make-up is bad for your skin.
Boys shouldn’t be allowed to wear their hair anyway they like to school because they might constantly be fidgiting with their hair making sure that they are looking good and they won’t be concentrating on the work they are doing.

I think girls should be allowed to wear make-up to school if they have a disco or a party because they don’t want to look rubbish.
I think the boys should be allowed to wear hair products to school because it doesn’t harm them from doind there work so it doesn’t create a problem.
I don’t think girls should be allowed the wear make-up to school because wearing make-up at an early age breaks put their skin and it will cause problems for them in future days to come.
I don’t think there is any reason for a boy not to wear hair products to school because it doesn’t distract them or other people.

I THINK GIRLS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO WEAR MAKE-UP TO SCHOOL BECAUSE THEY MIGHT HAVE A SPOT OR A PLOOK THAT THEY NEED TO COVER .
I THINK THAT BOYS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO WHERE THERE HAIR IN A STYLE BECAUSE IT IS THERE CHOICE FOR WHAT THE DO .
I THINK GIRLS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WEAR MAKE-UP TO SCHOOL BECAUSE THEY ONLY REALLY WERE IT TO LOOK NICE FOR THE BOYZ.
I THINK BOYZ SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WEAR THERE HAIR IN A STYLE BECAUSEIT COULD DISTRACT THEM OFF THERE WORK BECAUSE THEY MIGHT THINK THAT THERE HAIR A MESS AND FIX IT IN CLASS .

For:
I think girls should be allowed to wear make up to school because it gives them confidence in theirselfs and it makes them think they are prettier than what they are in real life. Girls should also be allowed to wear make up to school beacause they might have a spot and they want to cover it up with make up because they ar eembarrased about it because they might get made fun of.If girls only wear light make up that no one can really see then that would be appropriate , but if they put bright red lipstick on and orange fondation or something that would be wrong.
Boys should be alllowed to wear their hair how they want because the might not like having their hair short and sticking up they might like having it longer than most boys or in different styles. As long as boys don’t go to crazy and dye their hair pink or blue or something and their parents are okay with it then they should be allowed to choose how they wear their hair.
Against:
I think girls shouldn’t be allowed to wear make up because they might put to much on and put bright red lipstick or something like bright orange fondation on and if a visiters came in to the school they might think that the school is badly run with girls running around with loads of make up slapped on their faces and they might go and tell other shcools and other schools will think that our school is a not very nice school to go to .
I thin k that boys shouldn’t be allowed to wear their hair in really crazy styles because they might go a bit over the top and grow their hair down to their wastes and start wearing their hair in bun ches and ponytails and french plaits and if the same vistitors came in as the one in my other argument then they might get a bit scared with girls running about with their faces smothered in make up and boys playing football with bunches and french plait in . LOL !!!!!

FOR:
Girls should be allowed to wear make up because it makes them feel good about themselves
and it gives them a sense of wellbeing and shows them how much confidence they have.
Boys should be allowed to have hair gel or any products in their hair because it makes them feel cool,they like it and it also makes them stand out in a crowd.
AGAINST:
Girls should not be allowed to wear make up because some of them can’t afford too much of it and also when the make up is worn away their faces usually come out in lots of spots and blisters.
Boys should not be allowed to wear hair products because if they put too much on it makes their hair look dirty, I have learnt from experience!

For:
I think girls should be aloud to wear make up and belts because it is their own style and its their mums decision to let them wear them or not.
Boy’s should be abale to wear earings because the girls get to wear any jewlerry as they want and also they should be able to wear gel as the girls get to do anything to their hair!
Againest: Girls should not be aloud to wear mak-up as it can ruin their skin and once they have put it on for the first time they will think they will look better with it on and will not stop wanting to wear it. Even my big sister wishes she had never put make up on.
Boys shoudn’t wear earings as it can catch onto things and rip their ears and should not be aloud to wear gel as they will play with it in class.

Girls should be allowed to wear make-up to school because as a fellow girl it makes us feel more confident and makes us feel good about ourselves,if we’re feeling rubbish.
Boys should be able to do there hair any style because it might make them feel really good.It might also help them be happy all day,even if something bad has happened in their lives.

I don’t think girls should be allowed to wear make-up to school because they might go OTT and they might focus on themselves and not their work.

Girls should be allowed to wear make-up to school only if it`s light and cannot be seen by other people.
Boys should be allowed to use as many hair products as they like as it is up to them and their mums and dads what they wear there hair like.
Against:
Girls should not be allowed to wear make-up to school as it might be to much to wear to school
Boys should not be allowed to use as many hair products as they like because their hair looks greasy and horrible.

FOR:
Girls should be able to wear makeup to school as long as thier parents approve and they are doing it because they want to and are not being pressurised into it by any of their friends. There are no health or safety implications so the school should not get involved.
Boys should also be allowed to wear hair products to school with their parents permission. To say they can’t wear them would be discrimination.
AGAINST:
Girls should not be allowed to wear makeup to school as it may damage their skin and, like wearing designer clothes, may cause the girls and parents to spend money they cant afford to to make them fit in and be accepted by others. They might also bring expensive things with them to fix their makeup with during break or lunch and it might get lost or stolen.
Boys should not be allowed to wear hair products to school or have their hair in crazy styles as the people sitting behind them in class will not be able to see the white or black board.

I think girls should be able to put on make up because its up to them and they may not look as nice without it.
I think boys should be able to wear gel in there hair because its up to them if their parents agree to let them.
I think girls shoudn’t be able to put on make up if they are being told to by friends and only if they want to but it can damage their skin.
I think boys should’nt use gel because they might get ripped because they are not as good at gelling their hair as their friends.

I think should be aloud to wear make-up because maybe they have a spot they want noone to see it or might have black eyes because they haven’t had any sleep.
I think boys should be able to wear any hair product because they do not want to walk around with hair that looks like a mop. This is only if there parent/guardin allows what they are putting on their hair.
AGAINST:
I think girls shouldn’t be aloud to wear make-up because sometimes they put to much on and they just look horible. The other thing is that they sometimes go over the top.
I think boys shouldn’t be aloud to put on hair products because sometimes it wastes money and some of your time. When you put to much on and don’t wash your hair you will start getting dandruff and hard hair.

I think girls should be allowed to wear make up because they might have a big spot or a mark that they don’t want anyone to see incase they get made fun of.
I think boys should be allowed to wear their hair the way that they want because their own hair is their own decision as long as it is sutible and looks good then they should be allowed.
Against :
I think girls should not be allowed to wear make up bacause if they get upset and cry then if they are wearing masscara then it will all run down their face and it would look rediculous.
Boys should not be allowed to wear their hair in any way because they might take it to far and wear it in some crazy styles and they would not be sutible for school.

For: I think girls should be allowed to wear make-up because they might feel better and happier.
I think boys should be allowed to wear any hair styles that they wish because they might feel better and if they are having a rubbish day it might make them feel happier.
Against: I think girls should not be allowed to wear make-up because if they try to impress a boy they might go a bit OTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and they might scare the boy instead.
I think boys are not allowed to wear any hair style they wish because they might go a bit OTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! with weird colours and styles.
